Boyd Co. Public Library Hosts Indie Author Day

Boyd Co. Public Library Hosts Indie Author DayBoyd County Public Library is proud to announce that it will be participating in the annual Indie Author Day celebration by hosting an event on October 14, 2017 that is free and open to the public.

This event will be part of the second annual Indie Author Day event. Last year, nearly 300 libraries hosted thousands of authors across the United States and Canada. This year, high participation is expected again. This is an opportunity for the indie community to come together in the library to help local self-published and independent authors get discovered and for readers to find new books written by fellow community members. In addition to the activities that will be happening locally, Boyd Co. Public Library will enrich their programming with selected workshop videos produced by Indie Author Day sponsors from around the world. Beyond this annual event, the Indie Author Day community offers programming on the website to help libraries and authors stay connected throughout the year.

This year Boyd Co. Public Library will be hosting webinars to share with the community as well as author meet and greets.  The topics for the webinars will include how to put out a professional book, how to cultivate reviews, the costs of self-publishing, how to create audiobooks, genre based writer workshops (fantasy, romance, YA, etc.), importance of book cover design, what Come Write In Libraries can do for authors during NaNoWriMo, and more. The workshops will be sponsored and produced by Indie Author Day partners like Romance Writers of America, IngramSpark, Pressbooks, and Indies Unlimited providing a wide array of unique perspectives.
