Respect, quality, passion fuel first decade of Right at Home care

Respect, quality, passion fuel first decade of Right at Home care Cathy Queen, RN, owner of Ceredo-based Right at Home of the River Cities, is celebrating 10 years in business. Right at Home serves seniors across the Tri-State areas of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Cathy, who earned her nursing degree from Southern West Virginia Community College and Technical College, has 28 years of experience in Home Health skilled care.

In 2006, Cathy began exploring the idea of providing high-quality, non-medical in-home care services to people living in the Tri-State area. Queen’s vision was to provide hands-on, one-to-one care to seniors and veterans in their own homes. Cathy partnered with Right At Home, a non-medical homecare company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Coincidentally, Right At Home’s founder Allen Hager, was a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., who pioneered the Right at Home concept in Omaha in 1995. In 2000, he began offering franchise opportunities to individuals who shared his mission to “Improve the quality of life for the people we serve.”

Right at Home’s mission statement, combined with a quality-driven plan to care for the elderly, drove Cathy to open her own franchise, Right at Home of the River Cities, in 2008. Cathy’s emphasis of providing quality in-home care and respect for her clients – seniors and veterans alike, has led to Right At Home’s success in our area.

Right at Home offers in-home companionship and personal care and assistance to seniors and adults with disabilities who want to continue to live independently. Right at Home employs and supervise all caregiving staff, each of whom is thoroughly screened, trained, bonded and insured prior to entering a client’s home.

Caregivers are trained to attend to the needs of their clients, and offers companionship, homemaking, physical assistance, hygiene, wellness, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, respite care, non-medical home care, transportation and health reminders.

The Right at Home of the River Cities team has a combined total of 80 years of medical experience and is focused on providing consistent, high-quality care to clients. Giving back to the community is important to Cathy and her team. Right at

Home is involved in the community through various organizations, including annual sponsorship of the Huntington Alzheimer’s walk and committee membership; membership in the Huntington Chamber of Commerce and Rotary clubs; committee member for Dementia Friendly Huntington; annual City Mission drive, Cabell Huntington senior access; and Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s support groups with local hospitals. The Right at Home team also participates in senior health and job fairs across the Tri-state.

Right at Home of the River Cities recently received the Home Care Pulse’s Employer of Choice and Provider of Choice awards. These awards are granted only to top-ranking home care providers, based on client and caregiver satisfaction scores gathered by Home Care Pulse. These awards are given to a small handful of home care providers across the country who have proven their ability to provide an exceptional working experience to employees and the highest quality care to clients.
